Ironbound
Outfitters' Sharon Valley Lodge has one of Newfoundland's most
populated areas of Black Bear.
Black
hunting, Newfoundland - BLACK
BEAR HUNTING $1400-$1800/six days discounts are available for
combo hunts, groups, and late bookings. Hunts still available
for 2007.
Both our spring "spot and stalk"
and "baited" black bear hunting is done in May. Sometimes the
snow is all gone by the middle of April and in other years it
stays until the first week in May. Although knowing the weather
conditions very far in advance is impossible, most of our hunts
are booked months before the actual hunts begin.
By hunting in May, we know, with
a great deal of certainty, that all our hunters will be hunting
in prime time. After June 15th, the black bears begin to rub the
fur off their hides.
All the black bear hunting packages
are for six days and we take only six people to hunt at a time.
To ensure the conservation of the black bear the Government of
Newfoundland as decreased the number of black bear taken per licence
to "one" for sport hunting. Each hunter pays for a license which
entitles him to a trophy black bear and that is what we expect
him to take.
One of the advantages of bear hunting
with IRONBOUND OUTFITTERS is our combination and customized hunts.
We offer bear hunting that is customized especially for the individual
hunter. If a hunter wishes, we also offer a moose and caribou
during the bear hunt. Fishing is also available at no extra cost
other than the license.
The cost of bear hunting is $1,400-$1,800
(U.S.), all inclusive. This includes license tags, food, guide
and travel expenses while bear hunting. We also look after getting
the hunter his license and export permit along with the preparation
of the trophy.
